Mango Smash

From Mexico with love!

Here's something brand new, made up by our friend, tequila-phile Margaret Ellis. Just back in town from six months in her beloved Mexico, she came up this tasty concoction she came up with all by herself.

Ordinarily we're not fans of drinks that involve more than three - maybe four - ingredients. It's just too much trouble. But this one is such a refreshing delight, and Margaret was so swell to share it with us, we thought we ought to share it with you.

Mango Smash

  • 1.5 ounces tequila 
  • .5 ounce mango nectar (Looza makes it, Publix has it)
  • 1 ounce ginger ale (something with bite like Red Rock)
  • Splash of agave nectar (you could use simple syrup in a pinch)
  • Splash of fresh lemon juice

Combine the ingredients, shake with ice until freezing cold and pour onto new ice in a rocks glass. You can easily scale this up to make a pitcher for a crowd on a hot afternoon.
